Provincial Level Beach Cleaning Programme under the Chairmanship of Hon. Governor Eastern Province – 2023
As per the Honour direction of Hon. Governor Eastern Province, the Provincial Level Beach Cleaning Programme – 2023 was held in the Uppuveli Beach Area, specially this evet was chaired by Hon. Governor with the participation of the Secretaries, Deputy Chief Secretaries, Heads of the Departments and other Senior Officials of EPC/Other Ministers and Department and Divisional Secretary and Staff of the Divisional Secretariat, Trincomalee Town and Gravetes, Representative of Community Centers, RDS, Youth Clubs, Fishman Societies, Hotel Societies, Volunteers, Public, Tourists including entire staff of Pradeshiya Sabha of Uppuveli more than 400 participants engaged in the programme.
Further, more than 02 Km beach areas are cleaned and the first time in history the beach tech machine was used in the uppuveli beach area to the deep cleaning by the efforts and direction of Hon. Governor, EP and the Cleaning Programme was held 6.00 am to 12.30 pm, the covered areas are beach and cemetery including beach access road.
